Raiffeisenbank’s clients will be able to use expired cards for another six months
Starting from April 13, the bank will provide operations with bank cards with expiration dates in February, March and April 2020 for all its clients — individuals, small, medium and large-scale businesses, in case they did not manage to pick up the card from the office. Until September 30, 2020 with old cards it will be possible to:
- conduct transactions in retail outlets and online stores;
- pay for goods and services in linked applications;
- use Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay e-wallets;
- receive transfers from cards of other banks;
- withdraw cash from Raiffeisenbank ATMs.
This measure will allow you not to leave your home to pick up the card at the office, and reduce the risks of infection with coronavirus. You can pick up reissued cards at the offices at any time that the client considers safe for him/herself.
«We take the health of our clients very seriously and strive to make sure that all the operations they need can be performed without leaving home. Receiving a reissued card is one of the few operations that require presence in the office, and we suggest that clients postpone it until the epidemic ends," Roman Zilber, the Head of the Individuals and Small Businesses Directorate at Raiffeisenbank, commented.
In order to use the card in e-wallets (Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay), you should continue to pay with the card without updating it in the wallet. When paying in online stores, you should indicate the validity period stamped on the card. On the websites of some outlets, in the «validity period» field, an auto-check of this field is introduced, in this case it will not be possible to make payment; you may also have difficulties when paying in some retailer and service outlets due to restrictions at the acquirer level. Clients who want to use the Internet bank and the Raiffeisen Online or Raiffeisen Business Online application can order a free delivery of a new card, which is already in the office.
